University News | April 2, 2025

Â鶹´«Ã½rtb President Scott D. Miller has been named one of the honorees in the 2025 Virginia C-Suite Awards, presented by Virginia Business magazine. The awards celebrate top executive leaders across the Commonwealth who consistently demonstrate outstanding leadership, integrity, vision, company performance, and community engagement.

"I am deeply honored to be recognized among Virginia's distinguished leaders in the 2025 Virginia Business C-Suite Awards,” said President Miller. “This accolade reflects the collective dedication of the Â鶹´«Ã½rtb community—our faculty, staff, and students—who continually strive for excellence and innovation. Together, we remain committed to fostering an environment that not only advances academic achievement but also contributes meaningfully to our broader community."

President Miller is one of only three leaders honored in the Higher Education category during this inaugural year of recognition. His transformative leadership at Virginia Wesleyan has driven remarkable progress across academic innovation, strategic partnerships, and global engagement. Most notably, the creation and development of VWU Global Campus has been a cornerstone of this growth, featuring seven new master’s programs, a dynamic continuing education and talent development initiative, and the establishment of the Jane P. Batten and David R. Black School for International Studies at the University’s collaborative campus in Tokyo. He was instrumental in bringing the new Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art facility to VWU's campus, opening in 2026. He joins a distinguished group of professionals across various industries—from government and nonprofit to private and public companies—who serve in top-level roles such as CEO, CFO, COO, executive director, or president.

“Our 2025 C-Suite Awards winners are outstanding leaders who demonstrate impressive résumés and lead their companies to success, making a positive impact on the lives of others,” said Richard Foster, associate publisher of Virginia Business. “They are trendsetters who empower those who work with them in a professional setting and in the community. They are examples to all, and their leadership is growing the next generation.”

Honorees will be recognized during a special luncheon and awards celebration on June 5 at The Jefferson Hotel in Richmond. Winners will also be featured in the June issue of Virginia Business and highlighted online at VirginiaBusiness.com.
